This leaves your customers staring at their closets each morning, wondering whether they should dress for the first or second half of the day.

Layering is not only versatile and ideal for changing weather, but has also become an international fashion trend. We broke down the 3 secrets to layering so you can find the products you need and better market each one to your customers.

1. Fitted or Semi-Fitted First Layer

Since they’ll be packing the on the layers, the bottom should be something comfortable but not too baggy. This look can easily be achieved by shopping for t-shirts featuring a side seam. Skintight tops may now be just an early 2000s memory, but semi-fitted non-boxing tops are still all the rage. Pick a t-shirt that hugs your feminine customers’ curves without being restricting and a t-shirt that accentuates your masculine customers’ form without being too tight. Substituting a crop top for a typical t-shirt is an easy way to add a little flirt and flare to the look.

Avoid baggy bottom layers that cause a ballooning effect with the outer layers. This may result in your customers looking larger than they are. Maintain a balance of comfortable and flattering first layers.

2. Light to Mid-weight Middle Layer

Topping off your premium designs with their favorite denim jacket or cotton overcoat creates a modern and trendy multi-layered look. Rock a fitted long sleeve base layer with an oversized t-shirt top layer. Dress up a baggy crewneck over a skirt and collared shirt.
